JSA is up to a lot, and constantly, so it can get pretty confusing. While we normally have a "fishbowl" library study space that we reserve every single day without fail, it can get a little more confusing during these ~~unprecedented times~~.

Below is how we conducted our regular event schedule in the spring, and how we will operate during the fall as virtual classes continue!
GENERAL MEETINGS [wednesdays 8pm zoom]
-
general meetings are google slides like you've never seen them before. we share what JSA is up to that week, including project and weekend event announcements, and then present pieces of japanese culture!
-
it's a great way to keep up with the club and learn a little bit more about japan :^)
-
come to make some friends in the zoom chat and breakout rooms during ice breakers !
OCHAKAI [now on discord]
-
while normally, ochakai is our lazy friday event where we reserve a random classroom and play smash, talk, eat, and decompress from the week of classes, it's a little harder to do so online.
-
right now, we're operating ochakai on a casual basis through JSA discord's voice channels!
-
stop by and say hi ~> https://discord.gg/RcfYVZX
WEEKEND EVENTS [saturdays on zoom]
-
normally, our weekend events range from picnics, beach bonfires, rock & rock day (rock-painting and karaoke), and cooking events.
-
last spring, we tried cooking omurice together, listened to our former president give a meme seminar, and took part in virtual self care day (a collab with cal poly's yoga club).
-
we are still figuring out what works, so stop by our general meetings to see what we're up to that week!
SPORTS [every other sunday]
-
SPORTS!!!
-
while JSA has historically been the worst D4 intramural team to register with Cal Poly's Rec Center (famously winning only one volleyball game the entire spring 2019 season and beating CSA in softball once), we have quite a few esports fans ready to contest that title.
-
stop by our general meeting to see what game (league?? melty blood??) JSA is getting washed in that week.
