A simple yet refined dessert. Coffee is not meant for everyone and coffee jelly still has a strong taste. But in jelly form and with cream it becomes more like a coffee flavored dessert, if that makes sense?
Ingredients
2 C of Coffee
- If using Instant Mix make medium roast
- Can be either medium or dark roast, just remember dark roast has a much stronger taste
1/2 C of sugar
- Can add 1/4 more for a sweeter taste
1 1/2 Tablespoons of powdered gelatin
Toppings: Choose one of the following
- Sweet condensed milk
- Whipped cream
- Sweetened cream
Prep
Gather dry ingredients.
Make coffee right before making the jelly.
Prepare a large baking dish or large shallow bowl to put jelly in.
Have a medium-small pot ready.
Steps
- Make your choice of coffee, at least 2 cups worth
- Pour the coffee into the pot. Slowly warm up on medium low heat.
- Add in the sugar while stirring. Wait until completely dissolved
- Then add in the gelatin. Stir until completely dissolved; then turn off the heat and remove from stove.
- Pour the mixture into the pan or bowl prepared earlier.
- Let is set until cool to the touch. Then put pan in refrigerator (covered with lid or plastic wrap) and let it sit for 1 hour or until completely solid.
- Cut up jelly into cubes and serve in bowl. Add toppings and cream and you're done!

*Disclaimer: The jelly will probably set no matter what as long as there is water and enough gelatin. However, really strong coffee and a lot of sugar may make it a little more chewy so keep that in mind.
